WELCOME

Our Story

Hello! Welcome to our page. We are Wisteria Saint Bernards. My name is Nichole Whitfill and this is my kennel. I wanted to introduce myself and tell you my goals!

I was born into St Bernards. My mom bred and raised them for as long as I can remember. They are the only breed of dog I have ever owned. My first heart dog was born when I was 10 years old, Chakowski, and he lived to be 13.5years old which is remarkable for this breed. I grew up always wanting to be a veterinarian. My dreams did come true when I was accepted into Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. I graduated in 2019. While in vet school I learned about the dog show world for the first time and I became fully immersed in all things dog showing and reproduction. I learned about the Saint Bernard Club of America (SBCA) and immediately got involved. I reached out to my now mentor, Doylene Roberts, and she enthusiastically said yes. This was in 2016-2017 and I started on my way to becoming a full SBCA member. In 2019 just after graduating I became a full member and have been since. At this time I also became a member of the SBCA Health Panel where I sat for multiple years.

I bought my first potential show dog in 2019, Empty Kegs Wishes of Wisteria and while we did show often, he did not enjoy it, and ultimately we did not continue to show. He was fully health tested and earned his CHIC title along with his Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog Novice, and DCAT. He is my most athletic dog and loves to swim, run, hike, etc.

In 2022, I met Melodie Sorenson and she gave me the amazing opportunity to have first pick of the litter. With my goals of starting my own kennel in the future, I knew I wanted a girl. From the moment I set eyes on her, I knew that this puppy would change my life. Watching her even at 8 weeks old, she never put a foot out of place, beautiful top line, sweetest temperament. I wanted a dog who could move effortlessly. That puppy was coming home with me. Her name is GCH Copper Mtn’s Bon Temps de Rouler a Wisteria CGC, TKN, ATT or as we call her Tuesday/Baby Tuesday and she has become everything I could imagine and more. She opened up a whole new world for me that I wasn’t sure I would ever get to experience.

My goals for my kennel is to preserve the Saint Bernard breed one step at a time by combining Health Testing and Temperament, along with the SBCA Breed Standard to produce the healthiest dogs possible with increased longevity for your family to be able to love for a long time.

We are located in Central Kentucky. Again, welcome to Wisteria Saint Bernards! Thank you for being here on this journey.
